In 1895 Emile Henri t'Serstevens and his wife Marie Dastot became members of the Belgian Association of Photography. Equipped with a large format camera and glass plate negatives they made around 2250 photographs offering a unique view on the life of the Brussels bourgeoisie at the turn of the 20th century. Almost 100 years this oeuvre would be forgotten until it was rediscovered in 2013 in the photographic collection of the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA). This book publishes some of the most beautiful photographs made by the t'Serstevens with a contextual introduction in English, French and Dutch.en_US
