Recent studies seem to point to a physical mechanism that links the behaviour of atmospheric particles with the incoming galactic cosmic ray flux, although the details remain very uncertain. These studies are mainly focused on the troposphere. Here, we search for a possible link between cosmic rays and stratospheric aerosols, by the application of standard time series analysis methods; the results indeed suggest the existence of a physical mechanism that links both quantities.
