dc.descriptionThe review of the published sources about the Italian painter Francisco Ginete, working in Madrid during the early 17 th century, and about the painter known as Francisco Juanete, working in the service of the Dukes of Medina Sidonia between 1604 and 1638, as well as their confronting, lets to conclude that they were the same person. Consequently, this study offers a first biography about this artists and gathers new and dispersed data that help to define more clearly the figure of a courtesan artist, a close to painters like Velázquez, Vicente Carducho and Angelo Nardi.en_US
