Vincent Geyskens (born 1971, Belgium) examines in his oeuvre the position of painting and how we look at and consume images. The artist works in series, which overlap and influence each other, and range from figuration to abstraction, collages, painted frames, monochromes and still lifes. In this publication, the diversity of his work is richly illustrated, with a focus on the pieces created during the last ten years. Dominic van den Boogerd’s essay is dedicated to his recent artistic practice. Eduardo Lamas explores Geyskens’s take on still-life painting. The artist himself enters into conversation with Eva Wittocx. Exhibition: M Museum Leuven, Leuven, 28 May – 9 September 2021en_US
