| dc.description | In the Bantu language Shangaci there are four pairs of tenses, simple and complex, which express the same time reference. The complex tenses contain a preverbal marker which is derived from the verb entta go . We examine the meaning that entt contributes and show that it cannot be a progressive aspect marker. Instead, the complex tenses appear to express verb focus. | |
