Burials and tomb constructions at Mleiha, Sharjah Emirate, UAE, are discussed. The area belongs to the 3rd and 2nd century BCE and was previously excavated by Iraqi (1973) and French teams (1986-89). Several questions concerning the lay-out of the graveyard and the construction of specific monumental tombs are addressed. Variations on the known corpus of tomb types were recorded. The original height of one of the "tower tombs" could be determined as at least 6 meter. Furthermore, the presence of platforms and gravel mounds on graves was documented.
