State Archives of Belgium
Our collective memory! Notre mémoire à tous! Ons collectief geheugen!
The State Archives of Belgium, a federal scientific institution, comprises 20 archival repositories accross Belgium, together preserving almost 400 linear kilometres of analogue records and more than 445 terabytes of digital files. Each State Archives repository has a reading room that is open to everyone and where archival materials can be consulted. In addition, an ever-growing part of the collection is accessible online. The State Archives also oversees proper information management within federal public services. Our archivists and researchers produce inventories, research guides, institutional histories and a wide range of research outputs that help both researchers and curious visitors find their way through our collections.
