    Description
    A simple and robust model is presented for describing the extinction coefficient of stratospheric aerosols in the UV-visible range. In a first version, four basic volcanic modes are distinguished. The parameters of the vertical profiles take the latitudinal dependence into account. Future improvements are presented.
