    Description
The contribution brings to light the hidden stages of development behind the paint surface of Tintoretto's Angel Foretelling the Martyrdom of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, formerly in the collection of David Bowie. The astonishingly fresh, virtuoso underdrawing serves to anchor the painting within Tintoretto's oeuvre.
