Four severe weather events are examined, with 3 events producing large hail stones. The modified Fawbush-Miller (FB) hail forecast method is implemented as a computer algorithm to automate and improve the process. The mesoscale ETA model output is introduced in the FB computer algorithm and the results are close to reality in each of the cases. This suggests it is possible to forecast large hailstones associated with severe convective weather in the Benelux countries.
