    Description
The CAMS global real-time forecasting service provides daily analyses and forecasts of reactive trace gases, greenhouse gases and aerosol concentrations. This document presents the validation statistics and system evolution of the CAMS service for the period up to 1 June 2018. The evaluation is split according to service themes as introduced on the CAMS website: air quality & atmospheric composition, climate forcing, ozone layer and UV. Specific attention is given to the ability of the CAMS system to capture recent events. The focus is on the daily analyses and forecasts produced by the CAMS global forecasting system using the available meteorological and atmospheric composition observations which are ingested in the ECMWF 4D-Var assimilation system. In addition, the pre-operational delayed-mode analyses and high-resolution forecasts of CO2 and CH4 are assessed in this report.
