The State Archives of Belgium initially managed its collections using the ABS Archeion system, introduced in the 1990s to support depot management, reading room operations, and archival description. After more than a decade of use and increasing functional limitations, the institution transitioned to a new in‑house developed system, SAM (State Archives Management). SAM incorporates all core features of Archeion, adds improved usability and expanded capabilities, and now serves as the web‑based platform for managing physical storage, user registrations, reading room activities, and archival accessibility (https://sam.arch.be).Version 1.2.1
