    Description
    The article discusses the history of art works commissioned for the Capucin monastery of Segovia, Spain with a focus on research concerning 17th century patronage contracts signed with artists for works for the monastery. Topics include background on the commissioning of the works, the contract between the monastery and 17th century knight Antonio de Contreras, which allowed de Contreras and his wife to live in the monastery building, and Contreras' agreements with 17th century Spanish artists including Vincente Carducho, Francisco Rizi, and Juan Carreño.
